Before you go — a straight read on what actually determines income in direct sales and network marketing:

Most people do not earn meaningful income in any direct sales or network marketing company. Income depends on an individual's skill in two specific things:

  • Selling — getting actual customers for the product or service and keeping them (retention).
  • Recruiting — building a team and helping those people do the same.

This is not the same as "just talking to people." It means talking to people in order to sell them a product, a service, or the business itself — which is a very different skill, and one that has to be learned.

The industry's reputation that "nobody makes any money" exists largely because almost nobody talks honestly about what it actually takes: getting good at sales, recruiting, and customer retention.
